Day three...the museums

Since this really was our last day in DC, we wanted to see all the museums that we could. We first went to the Smithsonian Castle. Very intriguing structure, it has some interesting items inside, like Abraham Lincolns face mask and a torch used during a rally to promote his presidency, moon rocks and old coins, however, seemed to serve more as an information center more than anything. So we pressed on to the Air and Space museum. Ahhh, what an experience; anything that ever flew is in there, I mean everything!! It is huge and amazing. We could have spent all day in there but we had very little time and so much more to see. We went to the Holocaust museum and that was really eye-opening, when you get there they ask you to take a booklet that has a name and history of a person killed during the Holocaust. It really brought home how many people were affected by this tragedy. We decided, that we needed to lighten up our spirits after that and went to the Natural History Museum this to proved to be a remarkable experience, there is so much to see and time was running out for us so we choose to see the animals, dinosaur bones and the jewels. We went to the National Archives to see the Declaration of Independence, The Bill of Rights and the Constitution. It was all amazing!

This is what happened to our group after 2 days of non-stop site seeing!! They crashed in the Natural History Museum.
These are tile murals in a building we just happened to look into on our way to Blake's birthday dinner. Happy 18th Birthday Blakster.

We went to "Olives" for dinner a friend suggested it and I am so glad, it was incredible, everything was delicious. My favorite part was the chocolate lava flow cake with rasberries. YUM!! After dinner we went to the hotel to drop off part of the family and then Steve,Jessi, KC and I went to experience DC at night. We headed back to the mounuments for one last look since, we would travel to New York in the morning...

I couldn't believe it...most of my dad's side of the family were jewish. Too bad you couldn't go to the American History musuem, it is pretty awesome. I LOVE the air and space museum though!!
