It is a cold and rainy Thursday morning and we are packing up the mini-van so we can drive to New York City. The plan is to drive around the Capitol and Supreme Court building since we did not have time to do the tour and then go to Arlington National Cemetery. We all had things we wanted to see this was one of mine. I am very patriotic and felt impressed to go and pay my respects to the men and women who have died securing our freedoms. It was very touching. We visited the tomb of the un-known solider and witnessed the changing of the guard it brings tears to your eyes. We went to the grave site of Robert Kennedy and John F. Kennedy. There are quotes carved in granite facing his grave as I read them I was moved to tears, there were young service men all around and those words still speak to them today.
Once we left Arlington we were headed north our next stop is Philadelphia for a real “phili cheese steak”.
We get in Philadelphia and it is not the nicest looking city we have encountered (to say the least) it looked really scary and my dreams of a real cheese steak were fading, since the safety of my family seemed more important. Well, we did not spot a place to eat and were unsure of getting off the highway for fear of not being able to get back on. We stopped at a gas station and Steve spoke with a tow truck driver, he said to get a good steak “yous gota go to south phili”. We REALLY wanted this cheese steak!!! So we braved south phili and found Pat’s “King of Steaks” It was AWESOME, totally worth the risk….really. more importantly, as KC said "we did it!!!" We found a real cheese steak in Phili, de-lish.

I have never been able to see pictures of all those graves without tearing up. The older I get the MORE and MORE I am patriotic.
