OK ,so after flying all day we began our decent in to Ronald Regan International airport, we were all very excited to be arriving in our nations capital. Jessi, Kc, Cory, Steve and I were looking out our windows to see if we could spot a monument we had only until now seen in pictures, we did!, the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. Now we are even more excited that we were really here! As we got our luggage (all 10 pieces) and meet up with David's family with their luggage (another 10 pieces) that made for an interesting ride to the Hotel. 10 people with 20 bags in one small shuttle...you can only imagine the fun. Anyway, as we drove through the streets, I was so amazed at the size of the buildings, they are all huge with massive columns, some with statues all across the top, really beautiful. As we proceeded to our hotel there was a really large area that was completely dark (we soon learned it was the national mall) and as we drove by we looked and there was Capitol Hill, the building is so grand it illuminated completely the area around it. I have never seen any structure so magnificent, it gave me goose bumps. We all knew what a sweet time this was going to be and could not wait until tomorrow.
